TFME review of 2024: A year of truffles, triumphs & tasteful connections

Jan 23, 2025

What happens when you mix Michelin stars, mince pies in summer, and a whole lot of food magic?

2024 has been our most delicious year yet, and we're not just talking about the truffles (though there were plenty of those). From award-winning clients to festival fun, TV appearances to game-changing retail listings -this year had it all.

Here's how we made food marketing magic happen.

Breaking Bread (and Making Connections)

This year, we hosted 11 dinners and lunches that brought together the people who matter most in the food industry: buyers, distributors, journalists, and genuine food lovers. These weren't just networking events -they were the birthplace of partnerships, launches, and plenty of "let's make this happen" moments over great food and even better conversation.

Ready Steady Truffle: The Battle for the Crown

We launched the first-ever Ready Steady Truffle competition, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Six Michelin-starred chefs went head-to-head, competing for the prestigious title of King of Truffle.

The atmosphere? Electric. The dishes? Exquisite. The judging? An absolute privilege (and yes, possibly the best workday ever). Watching culinary excellence unfold while tasting truffle-infused masterpieces? We'll take that as a standard Tuesday.

Our Clients Are Award-Winning Superstars

We're bursting with pride over our clients' incredible achievements this year. They swept awards at:

  • Great Taste Awards
  • Speciality Fine Food Fair
  • Velvet Food & Drink Awards
  • Lifetime Achievement Awards

...and so many more. Every trophy, every accolade, every moment of recognition - these are the wins that remind us why we do what we do. Nothing beats celebrating the success of brands we truly believe in.

Summer Paradox: Mince Pies in a Heatwave

Picture this: it's peak summer. The sun is blazing. Ice cream is calling. And we're... talking about Christmas mince pies and festive campaigns.

It's the delicate (and slightly surreal) balance of food marketing - working months ahead while everyone else is living in the moment. But that forward planning? It paid off beautifully. We secured a fantastic array of festive coverage for our clients, ensuring they owned the all-important Christmas season.

Festival Season: Where Food Meets Fun

Summer meant hitting the festival circuit, and what a lineup:

  • CarFest with the Happy Pear
  • Speciality Fine Food Fair
  • Plant-Based Expo
  • Blue Earth Summit

These events are where trends are born, connections are made, and the future of food takes shape. We soaked it all in (alongside plenty of samples).

Our Clients in the Spotlight

Seeing our clients shine in the media never gets old. This year brought some brilliant moments:

  • James Golding, the Truffle King, gracing Sunday Brunch
  • Warners featured on Look East
  • Fitzbillies on ITV Anglia
  • The Happy Pear is chatting away on Virgin Radio

Every appearance, every interview, every feature - these aren't just PR wins. They're proof that great brands deserve great platforms.

Closing the Circle: Coverage That Converts

Here's what really matters: coverage that creates sales.

It's not just about the headlines or the TV spots (though we love those). It's about turning buzz into business. This year, we secured new listings with distributors and retailers for our clients - real, tangible results that move the needle.

For us, that's the vital piece of the jigsaw. Media exposure is powerful, but only when it translates into pull-through sales and new leads. That's where the real magic happens.
