Spring Fair, Birmingham NEC

3 – 7 February 2019

Are you getting show ready, or are you currently planning out your 2019 diary to ensure you’re attending the key industry events this year? Whichever it is, you need to make sure Spring Fair is on your radar. Birmingham’s NEC will host the five-day show from the 3rd– 7th February. Attracting over 56,000 retail buyers across independents, multis and online and 2,500 UK and international exhibitors, it showcases the ultimate products, launches and inspiration across 15 sectors.

Spring Fair is the must-attend sourcing marketplace in which visitors are looking for products to make their year and boost sales. And we are delighted to be the headline sponsor for a new area at this year’s Spring Fair, Artisan Avenue. We have worked with the event organisers to create the Artisan Avenue which gives producers the opportunity to sell their products into the homeware market, who are increasingly stocking more food and drink products.

A key trend highlighted for 2019 is that consumers will be shopping more locally, so it’s more important than ever to offer even more in store. Adding food and drink related items to stores will not only compliment a range of homeware but also provides an enhanced shopping experience for customers, meaning they are less likely to shop anywhere else. And it works both ways – offering non-food items into foodie stores can have great impact. Provenance Bix & Mortar MD, Kate Holden says “stocking non-food is key to increasing our customer’s basket spend as often it can increase it by upwards of 25%. We stock non-food products that complement our food offering, such as cheese boards as we sell a range of cheese. We also stock non-food as it makes us more of a destination for our customers to come to, enjoy and spend more time in”.

The avenue will be welcoming buyers from retailers such as Lakeland, Steamer trading, V&A, National Trust, Department stores, Garden centres, Farm shops, Delicatessens, Cook shops, Tourist shops etc. It will also see premium historic brands exhibiting such as Le Creuset, Denby pottery, Arthur price etc.
